We offer one-to-one support for parents and carers
Acorns Advice and Support worker can provide a safe space for you to share your thoughts and experiences and to help you explore how domestic abuse has impacted on you and your family.
Support is provided on a one-to-one basis and sessions can be held either at Acorns or in the local community.
All support is person centred and delivered in a way that supports you to be able to better manage your emotional wellbeing, confidence and at times feelings of isolation, together we can help you identify appropriate coping strategies and can signpost you to specialist services such as counselling and Talking Therapies.
Acorns advice and support worker can provide practical support in many areas depending on your individual needs and wishes. Many of the parents and carers who access Acorns benefit from support in the following areas:
- Housing Advice including help with applications and supporting letters
- Debt advice
- Support to attend court or legal appointments including arranging special measures if you have been called to give evidence
- Support to explore social and support groups within the local or wider community including referrals to the Freedom Program and pattern changing courses.
