Children and Young People’s Outreach Worker

We are recruiting for a motivated, dynamic Children and Young People’s Outreach Worker to work with our Prevent and Cope team delivering trauma informed, flexible outreach services which address the psychological and emotional needs of children and young people and families living with the effects of domestic violence and/or abuse.  Work includes 1-1 case work, both practical and therapeutic, and delivery of our bespoke youth programmes, open access services and group sessions, in a variety of settings including in-house, schools and within the community.

Due to the restrictions posed by the current pandemic, this role will involve elements of home working and remote working where possible including for the delivery of the service, so flexibility is encouraged.

This is a varied and interesting role, the post holder will work closely with our other services to design and deliver an appropriate family care plan for the family unit.  A youth work, education, domestic abuse or child care background is an advantage.

Interviews are provisionally scheduled for Tuesday 28th July.

This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2021 with a possibility of an extension dependant on funding.

Family Support Worker

25 hours per week.

We are recruiting for a kind, capable and organised Family Support Worker to deliver trauma informed, one to one practical and emotional support to the primary carers of the children and young people who come to Acorns, to enable them to improve their mental health and wellbeing, and confidence in their own skills.

Work may include (but is not restricted to) support with housing, debt management and benefits, support with family or criminal court matters, advocacy, signposting to appropriate services such as parenting courses and mental health and drug and alcohol support services, and offering emotional one to one support through difficult times.

Due to the restrictions posed by the current pandemic, this role will involve elements of home working and remote working where possible including for the delivery of the service, so flexibility is encouraged.
