We welcome young people attend a fun and engaging workshop in North Shields, delivered by Jo from the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The workshop will take place on Thursday 27th February, 2-4pm and is suitable for those aged 11-17.
Jo will be sharing his own life story including his personal battles with self-esteem, pressures and substance use before inviting participants to take part in a relaxed and informal activity session. Jo is highly skilled and experienced and has received excellent feedback regarding his engaging yet gentle delivery style. The aim of the session is to provide an important opportunity for young people to learn, share and explore coping strategies and resiliency tools that will support them to navigate life’s challenges.
Young people are invited to participate in whatever way they feel most comfortable. Please note that the session, whilst delivered sensitively will touch on some themes that may feel challenging or triggering for some young people and it is important that this is considered before attending. Please note that there will be a break out room and staff available to provide support to young people before, during and after the session.
The event itself is for children and young people only so they can be dropped off, however there is a café and some seating dotted around if parents/carers want to stay close by or feel this would be helpful for their child. The venue is Riverside Family Hub, Minton Lane, North Shields, NE29 6DQ
Signposting information will also be made available before people leave. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
To book a place, please ask your worker for the access code.
